Chrono Trigger was really good.

I don't remember there being any rocket propelled grenades in Chrono Trigger?

Nice. So you don't like to be blown away by an RPG-7 bud???

really really good

The sequel wasn't nearly as good but it was okay, a PSX emulator would probably run on your chromebook

hmmmm this opens up some possibilities

It was pretty much the only one I liked. I never was into RPG but Chrono pulled me in.

It’s what got me into the genre.

FFII on SNES was better.

Goldeneye N64 and MarioKart N64 are some of the best games ever made and its a shame they didn't have more content (tracks and levels.)

Debatable on the FF2 point, although I did think it was good.

Ocarina of time was the best n64 game hands down. I’m so gonna play that again when I get some time.

Damn, yeah. That one was pretty good.

Dragon warrior.

I remember getting it in a Ninendo Power magazine subscription.

I played the fuck out of that game and never beat it. One day my dad decided my stepmom at the time was a raging she-bitch and we packed up our shit one Saturday and fucking left while she was at the store.

Kinda just put that memory out of my head till now.

Terranigma

never heard of it. what console?

[–] 2 pts

Snes it was good took me years to actually finish it.

[–] 0 pt

ooooooooooo Ill look for it

[–] 1 pt

That's like a stock response by now though.

The best old RPG is definitely almost anything in the Pokemon series.

[–] 1 pt

so many hours spent on these

If you find yourself with time to kill, pokemon "dark rising" is pretty good. Fan made rom that ups the difficulty to 11.

Diablo 2 still never beat it and don't know where it is. Only made it to chapter 3. I need to get that game again.

Dragon Warrior series was good on NES. Crystalis and Faxanadu were also good on that system.

Crono Trigger on SNES

I didn't really play any RPGs on the N64, and that was the last system I bought. PC gaming from there on out.

Have to give some love to the really old ones, like Zork, Leisure Suit Larry, Kings Quest, Ultima...

Dragon Warrior was my favorite NES game.

The original 40 year old virgin!

Going to date myself, but Adventure on Atari 2600. A hero, dragons, a sword and bonus secret black dot. Spent a lot of time on that game. Not sure if it's my favorite, but worth mentioning. Thanks for reading.

When you look back its a really simple game, not many screens. But I'm with you, I absolutely loved that game as a kid and played it so many times.

Do you know about the black dot easter egg?

[–] 1 pt

No shame in it, the majority of games I know are old retro abandon ware games on emulator simulator programs. Some great games for the old Sega, NES, IBM, Amiga, Atari, SNK Neo Geo

MegaMan

Metroid

never actually played metroid. i might just give it a shot

[–] 1 pt

I thought metroid was a platformer?

I haven't played the original, but metroid on gba was awesome.

I guess I'll be the Final Fantasy fan boy in this thread.
FF 2 (IV) - epic story line
FF 3 (VI) - incredible music, very memorable characters
FF 9 - Square's beautiful homage to the original series, it's like concentrated nostalgia.

If I was given a choice between FF and Chrono Trigger, I would most likely pick CT
