If I show only my own words in a private conversation, is that a breech of privacy?

Edit: The person I showed my words to was going to ask the person I was PMing what I said anyway.

Pretty much any time you write anything, you should be assured people who weren't intended to see it, will.

This is before electronics. As a kid, my mom told me, don't write things you don't want others to read.

If you're only showing what you wrote yourself, I don't see how that is a problem unless it's indicating the other person was saying something they would prefer not be known and your responses were indicating some of what they said.

If the friendship is worth keeping, apologize sincerely, don't do it again and move on. If it's a lukewarm relationship, don't worry about it.

I'll apologize and not repeat this mistake. I didn't say anything awful, but this does suggest I'd make private conversations less so.

If you weren't meaning any ill towards anyone and were being sincere in whatever you were doing, you should be able to explain why you did what you did without the other person losing any trust in future conversations.

I really hope things will be okay.
