If I show only my own words in a private conversation, is that a breech of privacy?

Edit: The person I showed my words to was going to ask the person I was PMing what I said anyway.

Personally I’d probably say yes but I’m pretty privacy concerned when it comes to things people tell me.

I've decided I was wrong. Private means private and I should respect that more.
