I downloaded a legit windows 10 iso. and made a usb with rufus. Only got this to work with UEFI on, even after installing it has to stay on. Is this normal ?

What exactly are you asking, you have to leave the USB stick in even after install? Then either the BIOS/EFI isn't set to boot off the internal disk or there is not a bootloader installed on the internal disk
