They spout code they were trained on, that may or may not apply at the local the home is at. Usually in the county out of City there is minimal code for anything in Texas and other states.
They only quote the latest code. Like fucking arc fault breakers. “Needs total rewire” get fucked. The house is 30 years old, Does not require and hasn’t burned down or killed anyone. Fuck off lear the code.
What should happen is for every sale that falls through due to an inspectors report due the fuck out of the inspector and their company. Then maybe they will not be so zealot about shit and Lear the code.
Then apply the code to that home that was required when it was built.
