I've been able to post for about two weeks now, but haven't been just because life has been too jam-packed.

Ironically, I have started a new job that requires no work, so now I have more free time to shit post and hopefully will.

Any recommendations on ambient music to listen to while I don't work?

One of Poal's great features is the flexibility to just post when you have the gumption to do so. Poal doesn't judge you on the quantity of your posts only on the quality of how much of a fagguette you are. You're in good company around here.

I didn't know you had any interest in being a politician much less actually holding office.

It's very much old school now, but I would recommend Jean Michel Jarre's Oxygène. It's before we coined the term ambient, but it has that feel. It is definitely one of my influences in music creation. For something a bit newer, Patrick O'Herans' Indigo is a 90s masterpiece for me. I've considered making ambient music as a new project so maybe I will throw in on that in the near future.

Patrick O'Hearn is awesome. He's the original BMW commercial music. I don't mean he sold out doing commercials I just mean his music has that kind of sleek sophistication that you would think a BMW has. That man single-handedly sent me on a new age synthesizer one-man band journey which I'm very happy I started years ago.

It does however judge you on lack of post across time…. But that formula is a black box. Which I like. I’d like if it was a White box better, but you get the point.

I listen to Spacewave CR, Chronoscapes, Cyberlopod, Ethereal Odyssey, Ethereal realms. Other stuff as well but this is a good starting point. My favorite out of all of them is Spacewave. Do you like Boards of Canada?

I'll give that and all of those a shot. Right now I'm listening to the Angelo Badalementi channel on Spotify, the guy who did a bunch of the music for Twin Peaks.

What I'm mostly looking for is music I don't have to pay attention to much, something I can listen to as I read/write/don't do work.

Lately I stumbled across "Nurega - Organic Audio" and liked it. The kind of sound I can enjoy playing in the background. Be sure to try out an old album from Boards of Canada, like "Music has the right to children". Mind to share your opinion of the song "Sixtyten" if you listen to it?

Welcome back and stay sharp

This music can do that. I usually listen to it when I'm reading or sleeping. So it's not really all that mentally stimulating. Spacewave does dive into some blade runner and dune stuff which is pretty mind-bending but he has other stuff that's drool inducing.
