When I was little, my boogie man was a black shadow in the shape of the black spy vs spy character minus the hat. I don't recall ever having seen this show as a kid, we were poor and only got what the rabbit ears brought us. Until a couple years ago I was pretty sure I saw a US Stamp upside down and some how it became a boogie man in my dreams. I finally outgrew setting up a perimeter of stuffed animals to protect me from these bad, black, pointy nosed villains after a long day out on a boat. As I fell asleep I began feeling like I was on the boat, rocking to and fro, and my mind envisioned the "spies" rocking me to sleep.

Now I find it pretty hilarious as a child my boogie men were evil, long nosed, hiding in the shadow "spies," and here I am as an adult, making a full circle...

xD

Wow, that's funny. I've met people who were freaked out by things like that and it always seemed silly to me. Your description actually makes it make much more sense, especially with that little kid perspective.
