I've heard of a lost city, once a place of wonderous mechanical and industrial achievements, so much so that even the poorest members of it's society were given decent jobs, and taken care of long after they grew too old to work. Unfortunately the elites of this city grew greedy, and lost their way. Eventually it was overrun by savages who sought to build nothing, instead destroying and taking as they came, and the once vibrant city declined into ruins. I think it was called 'Detroit'.
