Saw some roadkill today and thought scavenger populations must love the automobile. Then I thought about the loss or reduction of apex predators. I think scavengers are much more prevalent than they were once, but I don't know. What do you think?

The other day I too was trying to recall if there were more or less bizzards. And I think it’s about the same. I remember as a kid seeing them high up circling….maybe 20-30 and I still see that some. See them on the back roads eating kills.

But that consisted is controlled. More dead, more eaters, less, yeah it apparently maintains itself, likely because no one has tried to “fix” it.

lol I had to re-read that sentence a couple times: bizzards- blizzards? buzzards? Funnily enough where I currently reside turkey buzzards are everywhere which is a new thing for this area.

As a kid I remember these beautiful nightjars that would fly during dusk with their mouths open eating mosquitos. DDT and glyphosates ended that.
