Jeets can swim, but not well and they don't understand that not all bodies of water are safe to swim in, so they happily jump into waterfall bases or surf where strong rip currents are present and drown.

Years ago, there was a whole family of jeets who drowned themselves in a waterfall. One jumped in, slipped on the rocks and got sucked in by the strong current, then one after another they jumped in to "save" the previous one like fucking lemmings. They are physically able to swim, but so fucking stupid that they often just get themselves drowned. This works similarly with electricity too.
