The woodchipper is an amazing tool, and big ones can easily chew up as much wood as you can toss into them. I've often wondered, however, would I actually be able to toss as much cordwood into one of these as possible? The flesh is weak even if the mind is strong...how long would it take to become hardened to such an activity, or would there always be that gurgle in the pit of your stomach? I understand the brush needs clearing, but am I a strong enough person to do it?

Sometimes I sit and meditate on problems like this. It's good to have other experiences with large-scale chipping operations related to you...it helps clarify the mind.

I like woodchippers that come with multi-cam live stream feature.

That certainly would help others understand how they work, and to provide a sense of ease when it's their turn to operate them.

The inside cam really helps to see when they get jammed.

Always pick a tool that will do what you want without jamming is my philosophy. There are some machines out there that will chew through a tree without a second thought, probably overkill but if you've a lot of cleanup to do - it's probably worth it.

I just like the mulch.

If there were no repercussions (getting caught, penalized) I could chip as much wood as is necessary without any gurgle in the pit of my stomach.

Young wood, old wood, male or female wood. Wood of slightly different shades of brown. None of that matters. The only wood I would spare from the chipper would be White or slightly yellow wood.

I would chip all of the rest of the wood and I would gaze in to the eyes of every piece of wood as I fed it to the chipper.

And I would keep chipping that wood until either there was no more offending wood left, or my services weren’t needed, or until I died.

There is only one thing holding me back from chipping wood right now and that’s my obligation to my family. Wood chipping (at least for now) doesn’t make money and could get me in to trouble. I need to be here for my family.

But if not for that, I would chip all of the wood and do so happily.

Noted. We'll give you a call if a chipmaster is required.

I got that free Stanley woodchipper, it only accepts up to a 3 or 4 inch thick branch, so there's a fair bit of manual processing to be done, depending on branch structure. I had tried sealing the pinholes in the fuel tank with epoxy, but it didn't work. I did find a new fuel tank that fits close enough, so I'm good to go there. I gotta stop and clear the discharge chute once every 30 minutes or so.

After watching what pest animals do to my birds, I have no issues managing them now.

Related, could a woodchipper process this "wood" faster than a bunch of ovens?

[–] 2 pts (edited )

Most likely. Modern estimates show it takes about 2-3 hours to process 180-200lbs of wood in a highly efficient oven. A chipper could easily process that in a minute or two, with substantially less energy requirements.

Yes. I meditate on such potential problems as well.
