Its my understanding that its about the radiation more than the heat. And white people being smart enough to put clothes on and build buildings to stay warm in. Darker skinned folks generally lack the adaptive ability to survive harsher environments, without berries and bushmeat they starve, and without a steady constant climate they cant adapt to the changes and freeze to death.

You know, I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't even consider clothing factoring into this. If the sun wasn't felt on the skin melanin production would most likely decrease over time.

I look at the desert people who dress in robes and hats and shit that covers them almost completely from the sun, they seem to tend to be lighter skinned than most africans who seem to not understand the most basics of clothing themselves.

Then we got whitey living in temperate climates that go from hot as fuck to freezing cold, we tend to cover ourselves and protect ourselves from sun in other ways like sunscreen, hats, normal clothes, and then insulate ourselves against the cold. But we do have issues with vitamin D deficiency and seasonal depression. But we adapt. We have tanning beds, we have sunscreen that helps prevent cancer but still lets us get enough sun to be healthy.

Im just writing thoughts here to, Im not positive on any of this, just my speculation. It can be very difficult to find honest science that displays differences between the races

I think it has something to do do with vitamin D. I could be wrong.

What I'm reading is that protection from UV light was more important, which makes sense because it will fuck you up in many ways. But then it leads credence to the theory that we evolved in cold environments and the people who spread out darkened in warmer areas. I can't see why you would go from being black to white in the cold as black would attract the minimal heat.

No that is the prevailing theory. It just seems off to me.
