An hour is reasonable. It's one day a year. Plan ahead and give your kid an extra nap, keep him up late the night before so he sleeps in day of, whatever. People should be able to enjoy New Years. Acting offended that you failed to plan ahead for a widespread well-known common celebration and just expected everyone else to accommodate you is some nigger level entitlement behavior.
I think a half hour is reasonable. An hour and a half is a bit much. There wasn't much we could do to plan ahead. Headphones don't work when kids don't keep them on, and I don't have a bunch of money to dampen sound in a room that isn't ours.
I didn't say dampen sound or the like. I said conduct basic parenting and plan for kids to get a little extra sleep elsewhere ahead and after a time you know regular sleep will be disturbed, the ssame as you would any other event that might alter kids' sleep schedule.
Gotcha. We did that. It's pretty difficult to get a toddler back to sleep after having the shit scared out of them for that long.
