Currently with my folks in a decent suburb, mostly White. It took until 1 for neighbors to stop shooting off fireworks. My wife has been trying to keep our toddler from complete hysterics, as he was woken out of deep sleep by an hour and a half of this garbage. I think he's finally asleep now. What am I missing here?

It wasn't as bad this year as years past where I am. I think people are out of money.

That's what I was thinking! I'm shocked that people weren't more limited...

Normally here they start around Christmas eve and continue until well past New Year's Day.

I heard none at Christmas and relatively few last night. I'd say here, they were very limited compared to years past.

> mostly White

I'd like to say this is your problem here, but it's most likely White liberals. They do not think about others around them. Their rights are all that matters to them. That being said, are you certain it was the not the non Whites?

They do not think about others around them.

And when they do think of others they think everyone else is just like them. They may even believe they are providing entertainment.

I think it definitely could have been, especially since there are more pakis of the Sikh variety around here.

I have a friend that had the misfortune of having a paki family move in on his street. Those cunts were setting off fireworks until past midnight on work nights because it was their Diwali holiday that they think should be imposed on us. Him and some buddies bought up a bunch of fireworks, like a U-Haul full and piled them up on the pakis yard in the middle of the night and set them all off at once. I am told the noise could be heard for miles. Anyhow, it generated a massive amount of complaints being called in at 4:00 a.m. or some such un Godly hour. The police show up, they pakis say they didn't do it, people have videos and neighbors tell how they always do this and were doing it earlier that night. They get issued a fine for noise and realized everyone hates them, and nobody wants that shit. That was the last time those pakis ever set off fireworks.

I am actually starting to think it was pakis too, this area has a lot of Sikhs...

Am I retarded for expecting restraint?

Yes.

If your toddler isn't going to sleep on time on New Year's, that is your failing as a parent, you were obviously too stingy with their champagne, kid should've been passed out by 9:30 at the latest.

Dammit. You know, you're right. I shouldn't have cut him off at 2 glasses!

Your rights end where their feelings begin.

An hour is reasonable. It's one day a year. Plan ahead and give your kid an extra nap, keep him up late the night before so he sleeps in day of, whatever. People should be able to enjoy New Years. Acting offended that you failed to plan ahead for a widespread well-known common celebration and just expected everyone else to accommodate you is some nigger level entitlement behavior.

I think a half hour is reasonable. An hour and a half is a bit much. There wasn't much we could do to plan ahead. Headphones don't work when kids don't keep them on, and I don't have a bunch of money to dampen sound in a room that isn't ours.

I didn't say dampen sound or the like. I said conduct basic parenting and plan for kids to get a little extra sleep elsewhere ahead and after a time you know regular sleep will be disturbed, the ssame as you would any other event that might alter kids' sleep schedule.

Gotcha. We did that. It's pretty difficult to get a toddler back to sleep after having the shit scared out of them for that long.

On new years eve? Yes.
