No no, I dig completely. My area actually has access to...sort of affordable Bison. If I was able to hunt I'd fill the freezer with deer and antelope too. Was just talking with my wife today that if we moved to somewhere like Alabama I could fill a freezer with turkey, hog, and tons of panfish. But...given that our house is completely torn apart right now, we had to stick with what we have access to. On the plus side, Black Bear is a pretty good diner (Location dependant).

Can't sleep on Bama. Hopefully I'll be down there for a 3 or 4 day camping excursion within the next 2 weeks.
I'd had high hopes for Colorado, until I got here and found out that basically all hunting land is private and they don't even sell slots. Friends and friends of friends only. And I'm sure there's good fishing but the closest lakes to me are like 2 hours away and have major pressure on them. It's just miserable. I'm used to fishing Columbia in Washington all over.
I spent about 2 months in Colorado back in the summer of 2020 over on the plateau west of Montrose. It was nice but always pounded by locals who used it as a private dirt bike track. The constant chainsawing of the bikes got kind of old. But once they went home and twilight reared it's head the elk would bugle and the owls would start their hooting. So so cool.
