A year ago I went to Jordan and Egypt with my father and I couldn't wait to come back to America to kiss the ground. I had a new appreciation for my country after getting back to my father's driveway.

For some reason he forgot how ridiculous the trip was and recommended my uncle goes on it.

My uncle was asking about the Anti-Diarrhea medicine we had. The tour guide gave me something in Jordan because that's where I got sick but I can't for the life of me remember what I took. I have no pictures of the bottle or any information about the type of drug. I know it wasn't Imodium.

I also was a little sick in Egypt but I was able to get medicine there which helped out tremendously. Any lads or lasses who've traveled Jordan or Egypt can you recommend what type of anti-diarrhea/ antibacterial pills or suspension that I could recommend to my uncle to at least research about and ask the tour guide when they have their pre-trip phone call?

Here in Russia we have an incredibly potent one - Chloramphenicol, which is sold as Levomycetin. It's effectively poison, it'll nuke everything in your gut and it is the last measure you can possibly use, and it works every time. A few years back I came down with very strong diarrhea after coming home from my friend's (coincidence?), I suffered its consequences for about a week - everything I ate just turned into liquid jet of water that kept me on the bowl for hours, and of course there was a matter of getting severely dehydrated. Well I thought enough is enough, popped half a pill of Levomycetin and it worked like a charm.
