Dante's Inferno? One single layer of that? Since its so many layers?...

The only Christian view I've ever heard of hell, is based upon that epic... Most often describing a single layer. Burning in a lake of fire...

Do you see it as something else?

I see it as forever alone... Not alive. Aware and every other soul aware of you, yet 100% uncaring of you to the point of unwilling to even acknowledge you, while showing they fully engage in a community without you. Maybe our hell's are specialized based upon our sin, very differently than Dante ever considered.

Forever alone is pretty much what c.s. Lewis thought. Just constant dullness and misery, self inflicted despair, and so on.

"The doors of hell are locked on the inside."
