My mom isn't getting hot water to her shower.

Initially I thought this was because her new tankless water heater was only set to 120 degrees F, so, after many struggles with a stubbornly stuck screw, I was able to remove the access panel and take it off of bitch move, now allowing me to increase the temperature all the way up to 140 F.

All of the water in the house is now hotter, including the bathroom sink water, but not the shower.

i don't know a lot about plumping, but this logically leads me to conclude there is a hot water valve somewhere that needs to be turned.

Is this logically sound?

The problem is the bathroom is directly on the other side of the right wall in this photograph, and all the pipes go down, which leads me to conclude I gotta go into the crawl space.

It real nasty down there, so I just wanted to make sure there isn't any other obvious solution I could be overlooking before I get real dirty.

I'm guessing the mixing valve went bad. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you're not capable of fixing that yourself. Possibly an anti scald device but I'm guessing not. Check this link out

You are almost certainly correct. I checked, no anti scald.

On the bright side, I remembered to turn off the water for the outdoor shower and hose while I was in the crawl space, so that was a minor win.

Sucks that the only way to access it is opening up a wall.
