This conversation happened as I saw in his attic a shit load of coffe cans with nuts and screws in them, to which I said, if you are gonna throw those away, I will take them....so here comes the story. He said his old man was so fucking cheap, as kids, they had to pull nails out of the lumber he got for free in his remodel business, then hammer them straight and put them in a coffee can. He said his dad was so fucking cheap, he'd pickup old dead TV's on the side of the road, and then take them home. Spend 2 days taking them apart....just for the fucking nuts and bolts in them. But the old man had a fuck ton of bolts and screws. I still have a metal 4 drawer cabinet (about the size of a suitcase) that has nuts and bolts that my dad had. I can remember that shitty metal thing making the metal on metal sliding noise when I'd look for a screw....I think of Dad everytime I open it.
