I know some random stuff and would be happy to help another Poaler for more specific stuff other than general questions on Poal.

For example, I knit, crochet, use Linux (passthrough hardware to a vm), have lived in many states, make yogurt, and lots of random.

I don't know if there's even a good way to list our knowledge so others could DM us. It would be cool to be able to keep editing the list only because my memory makes it so that I will only randomly think of things I know ...

I think that's how it works. I've been around since the 90s. I lurk or I'm noisy without people realizing I'm a chick. I remember running tremulous servers and a team speak server with it and having people flip out when I spoke. Geeky chicks fit in until our voices are heard or we are truly noisy about it (as I have been here and on voat).

She uses callsigns that are not obviously "woman" for a reason. Though, we pretty only voice-chat with people we already know so that has not been a issue.

When I was younger I did see that happening a lot though.

"OMGF, GIRL!!!!!" then everyone loses their minds for a few minutes. I don't get it. Sucks that you had to deal with that.

Meh. It taught me a lot. I'm very average looking. A solid 5 irl. I've always been a geek, playing with the turtle in the 80s etc, only had guy friends, everyone assumed I was a dyke before that was a thing. I played a lot of old school mmos and realized who I get along with.

The guys who lose it aren't worth your time as a chick. The ones who lose their shit saying you shouldn't be running the server are also not worth my time. I dunno. It's no different than voat or poal.

One of my best, closest friends I met on voat and he screamed tranny at me for all of an hour lol. My real best friend (he is a brother to me. Don't even know if he knows about Poal lol) is also from voat and I know we will never meet in real life but he was one who rolled his eyes and ignored the drama. There are expectations and there are women who show their tits and screetch...it's the Internet...

Before anything, Let your geek/nerd flag fly. I have been doing volunteer tech stuff so long I don't remember when I started.

Well, I said things are complicated but you put it there. Yeah, I/We deal with a lot of this and it is just nice to find people that have similar ideas/thoughts/etc. I am sorry about the stress part but it is nice to find others that are similar on the other side. When I say you can DM me, it is not just me. My Wife is here too.

Ill be posting some food stuff tomorrow that is awesome if you have never had it.
