Freedom of speech is a good one, but sadly under attack of late. I think mine is less well defined, but also now under attack. I've traveled across the country a few times and have seen many different places, so I always liked that even with as different as we are as far as people and landscape, everyone was still American, if that makes sense, no matter what little town in wherever you ended up. Now, of course, that great melting pot is under attack and people want to be seen as different ... but a great thing was when no matter who you were, people wanted to be part of the whole.
