I thought I saw where you could use wax. Alternately try dry graphite if the hinge is not oily. Wipe the silicone off well. You can buy graphite or just scribble like crazy all over it with pencil. With wax I think they make unpigmented crayons for this purpose. Graphite is messy, so take care if you have light carpet.

I'd think silicone lube would work, but try taking out the hinge pin and wiping it with silicone from a rag or paper towel. Make sure there is a thin coat or it may splatter when you tap it back in with a hammer.
