Got an old Thinkpad that's soon retiring from gaming and I've been thinking about giving OpenBSD a try. I've been using various Linux distros for almost 5 years now (mostly Debian-based ones) and the BSD system doesn't seem too different from Linux. Is it worth a shot?

It's a lot more hands on maintenance wise, and you get fewer updates. That said, my router ran great with it when I was running it. Give it a shot. Why not?

Personally I would try FreeBSD first though if you've never ran a BSD. It has the largest support.
