The term has been around a lot longer. It is a variation of the “speak with the manager” haircut meme, and had a name applied to it.
The name “Karen” itself, however, is Norse in origins, based on what I see. It would make sense that the name was jew engineered.
What’s funny is that the more apt name would have been “Debbie,” as almost every Debbie I’ve known was in HR, and, with only a couple of exceptions, they are generally terrible people. Hence being in HR. Plus, the name “Deborah” is Hebrew.
That's a good point. I guess it was a logical evolution of the 'manager' lady memes. But even that was typically applied to white women if I remember correctly.
I've employed "Wow, what a shanequia" on a couple of occasions. People aren't very receptive. "You know, like a Karen."
The first wave of Karen meme I remember was the lady on phone calling police about the nigger barbecue.
When my family is goofing off and someone has to leave the room and they have an attitude about something, we quote the movie (I forget which) saying "BYE Shanequia, byyyyye." And I love it.
Oh gosh, that rings a bell. I think I've seen that movie.
