When I was away I was having a beer with my father and some chicken and chips. This poorly spoken mumbling homeless guy came up and started rambling to us. I looked at the guy and just ignored him. When he kept going I looked up and said no and then my father said go away. We were close to a cathedral and he started to ramble on about in broken English about Jesus and pointing to the church. I don't go to a physical church but I do believe. So I have guilt about not doing what potentially could have been the correct thing which I'm not sure what that would have been. Would I give him money or a couple chips? Personally I've had bad experiences with homeless people over the years as well I'm sure a bunch of people on here have.

Most professional homeless people, like the one you encountered, is looking for his next high. Never give these people money. There are some exceptions but far and few between.

If you give a black homeless tree fiddy, and they go use it to buy crack, overdose and die, is that a good or a bad outcome?

Hmmm.....consider my mind officially "blown". I guess I need to have "drug money for black bums" on hand.
