Do they make a set that doesn't have bluetooth, but can hold a micro sd card? So basically a set with an mp3 player built in.

Update: Found a pair of Aftershokz - as700

Little high on the price tag for how old, should work for the job though.

Trying to find something that you can use to listen to something as you sleep? If you find an answer, please share it.

One possible answer would be to get a set that does have Bluetooth (and a micro SD slot) and then open it up and disable the Bluetooth hardware (assuming they didn't build it in such a way that it disables the headset in doing so).

I'm looking to drown out annoying coworkers when ear plugs aren't enough. Think just found some sony walkman headphones NW-WS413... Gonna research more options though

They make things that look like sweatbands with speakers built in specifically for sleep. Look up sleep headphones.

I use a gutted mobile device and a pair of $20 earbuds. FOSS "voice" (fdroid) audiobook player.

How gutted is it? I'd imagine running a smartphone takes more energy than a basic mp3 player.

I think energy use is about the same, I could be wrong though. I use ADB and remove any and all unwanted unnecessary apps and services. I use it for video and games as well. No sim card, wireless only.
