I am a programmer and my boss is an asshole that likes to push meetings on after work hours with his pointless waffle that makes me late for my own projects outside of work.

I suspect he's getting pretty pissed off with me so I'm looking for new roles elsewhere. We are generally told that online job boards like * LinkedIn * Indeed * Glassdoor * ...

are placed to find jobs but most of the time the jobs are out of date, full of hiring agencies or recruiters, and they're bombarded with CVs for a role that they've already filled and advertising it is purely a formality. So far the best thing I can think of is to try and attend tech conventions and speak to people (speaking to people - one of my least favourite activities) and I'm wondering if you guys have any other advice for job searching?

Short term I'm just looking for something to pay the bills, long term I want to start my own company.

That's all job postings are these days, buzzwords. The recruiters don't even know what they mean.
