Maybe I'm clueless because I don't use mail and don't have Facebook, but why would Facebook even have a mail facility? Who the fuck writes to Facebook? And why would they need machines that detect poison chemicals? Is this something the US postal service has too? Honest questions here as this story makes no sense to me.

I'm sure all companies get letters. Evil people probably love to send letters to big companies just to hear about it on the news. It could also be paranoia.

Sure, I understand companies get mail and I'd guess Facebook has deep pockets, so they can throw cash around. I even get having guards at the doors, security badges or whatever, but poison detecting machines for letters? Am I that clueless?

Business's get mail from other businesses they have relationships with like banks, hosts, co-location providers, lawyers.

I'm sure the business you work at gets mail.
