I have noticed poor couples argue very publicly (i.e. in their driveway/yard or in restaurants) but wealthier folks save the argument for somewhere more private. Why do you think that is?

Status.

For wealthy folks both parties will take a status hit for a public argument because they start above zero.

Trash starts at zero and feels that winning a public argument can increase their public status. (They have a potential upside)
