Title says it all.

Even living out in the middle of nowhere there were regular sonic booms over the city and the outlying area due to a few military bases in the general area.

Do you remember hearing those growing up? Do you remember when they "stopped"? I feel like it was sometime in the mid to late 2000's that the "booms" stopped.

Nothing else about this really. Just wondering if some people are still hearing these or if its basically not a thing anymore in the more populated areas.

I guess a lot of people hated it but I always thought it was interesting and amusing.. As long as it was during the day an not late at night. Those were annoying as hell.

Technically a lightning strike is a sonic boom, I'm hearing those frequently this time of the year as its tornado season.

I guess you're referring to the phenomenon of fast aircraft breaking the sound barrier though..

Some remote tailer park recently experienced that.. heres a video regarding the incident with 911 calls included. The 911 recording is quite hilarious. https://youtu.be/k0iiyBiqeeo
