Ordered a portable air conditioner from Home Depot today. My office is in a room that is absolutely baking because the wide area of windows that face the sun at the front of the house. It's totally disconnected (figuratively) from the back half of the house where the HVAC thermostat is. Thermal curtains and potted bushes on the porch in front of the windows only help a bit. It's a wave of heat hitting me as I'm at my desk.

Anyway, I did ship-to-store which is estimated 10 days from now. Even media mail, which I use to flip records on eBay, usually arrives across the country in like 5 days.

Their estimate is probably accurate because I already waited this long for my pressure washer to arrive. How?

I understand that but I don't want to look like a nigger with the butt of a window unit hanging out the front porch of the house. It's mostly about the drips.

I had a portable a/c in an office room I had in a warehouse. It worked fine. That's not to say you're wrong. You're right. Less efficient. I know my bro.
