Might be close depending on the battery, but you gotta square it with the risk of you cracking the screen or casing when doing the repair. So yeah better off just waiting to buy a new one.

I got pissed off that every single time I put the thing online it's force me to update the software which made it slower and slower. I swapped over to a Kobo. Not sure it's any better but the UI sure is.

I had to look them up. I'm actually not into ebooks. I do read books, but infrequently. Most of my daily reading is news junky related. I use the kindle mostly for web browsing and texting.

Agree on cracked screens and cases, not worth the money vs buying a new kindle or other pad.
