I don't think one would have to become a pastor/preacher/priest (unless maybe Catholics) to run a wedding chapel, reception hall or Bible Study. Local pastors would be glad to step in to assist as needed (for a small contribution). Tax wise, I'm not sure about any certificate requirements to verify your position. People buy old churches and create all sorts of secular churches (including church of satan as a non-Christian example) and get tax exempt status. In my area there are a number of old barns that were renovated to become reception halls and they are making money hand over fist, reserved in advance for months. They sub out food and drink support to vendors (along with the liability).
