If everyone had like 4 egg laying hens, food scarcity would not be a thing. They can eat ze bugs, and give us great protein. I bet they would even gobble up dandelions if you cut them up for them.
I've said it a hundred or more times here and ill say it again.
I can not wait to get the FUCK out of this communist state. Get some land. get some Chickens. Maybe some other livestock (I have experience).
I want a huge garden that would produce more food than I could hope to eat and will preserve most of the rest or trade/give to neighbors. If I have the space and the land is right, a sub-level greenhouse that can produce mostly year round. So long as the world does not go completely to shit in the next year it may be a reality.
That plus something like geothermal power of have a creek or river either enough water running through the property to power one of those small generators (big enough for excess power to a house and barn) so there can be ample heat for the greenhouse year round and always have fresh plants.
Yeah, that would be the most ideal (both). If they are not possible I will have other methods of power generation. Bio fuel, multi-fuel generator (able to work on natural gas, biofuel, methane, etc).
Small scale wind/solar if there are not other options.
It would be amazing to have a property with even a small stream on it. That would make power a non-issue as long as you have sufficient storage too incase the water level runs low, or freezes solid in the winter.
Lots of things on the "wish list".
we get into it sometimes but I like how you think. I feel like you would make a good neighbor.
