"East of the Rockies, you're on the line..." "8 BILLION, ART!!! 8 FUCKING BILLION!!!" <click> "...Must be a full moon. First time caller, you're on the air..."
I tried calling into C2CAM years ago but I was on hold for so long I hung up.

Never, but if Theo had a call-in radio show, I would call in everyday.
Please pray to Darwin that I get fired from my job.
I would immediately start a call-in show, and get raided by the feds a week later.

I'd give it three days. One day only if and his cubicle-mates find out about your show.
How much does it cost to start up a radio show? Asking for a friend
Pretty much nothing, if you use equipment you already own. Getting radio station airtime is another issue.
Podcast! Podcast! Podcast!
Just make sure on air when it happens and make sure it's recorded. You'll become a meme.
I called into a local talk show probably 20-30 times. Enough that the host gave me a number as there are some regular callers with my same first name. Nationally I've called into Free Talk Live twice. They are lolbertarians but have a a lot of descent discussions. Especially the host Jay Noone. I'd say he is a good role model.
Edit: the cool thing about Free Talk Live is that if you call there's a 99% chance you'll get put on air fairly quickly. You can also talk about whatever the hell you want to. It doesn't even have to be on topic at all.
The only time I listen to general terrestrial radio is when I'm piping audio into a device I'm working on.

This comment implies that you spend a lot of time listening to non-terrestrial radio...
I will clarify for you. I don't listen to much non-terrestrial radio either because my hearing is shot and it sounds like music played through mud.
Theo what would the name and themes of your radio show be?
Theocracy Now! with Theodore Kent, and it would be three hours of me calling women blasphemous whores and the callers shameless infidels.
It would be very judgemental.
So a muslim show then.
