I'm old so I have music files all on network media instead of these cloud services like Spotify or whatever.

As such, I have lots and lots of them and the playlist (and management of the listing) becomes cumbersome and even causes apps to hang or even quit. Any suggestions on playlist management in a music player, or an individual solution to either?

What players are suggested out there? I use windows (for Steam/gaming when I do), but am also experienced in many flavors of *nix.

Winamp, Itunes version 11 (nothing after); Foobar 2000; Audacious (foss) and I still use windows media player.

For android I use paid poweramp.
