That was a bit click bait of me but I really want to know.

I don't sleep well and have not for a very, very long time. I imagine that a lot of others here have similar issues with it.

So. How do you sleep at night?

Do you have supplements that help? Are you on some sort of medication?

Do you just do what I do now and say screw it and get what little sleep you can when you can?

Maybe one or two times a year I feel like I get amazing sleep and its like life is in full color rather than black an white. Anyone else live like that?

[edit] I should have pinged suplex on this one. ;)

My guess.

You have obstructive apnea which causes you to stop breathing. Your body realizes to o2 levels are going down, so it kicks you out of REM sleep, then it wakes you via small dose of adrenaline so your conscious mind takes over and modifies the air passages so you breathe once again. Your body is reluctant to go back into sleep , as it feels there is danger you need to be awake for, so you make be awake for a few hours or until you relax enough to clear the adrenaline.

That is my going theory as well. I have not had time to do a sleep study for a lot of reasons but im going to try to do one this summer.

Worse case, go one ebay and buy a resmed autosense 10 , and get the resmed pillows . Try it for a night. It autodetects if you stop breathing and bumps the pressure up to compensate. Make sure you look at the hours and get the lowest one. Last few I've bought were 200-500 bucks, which is cheaper than my yearly deductible. New they are 1500-2000.
