I think you might be overlooking the totalality of what being "here" means.
It means sunrises and sunsets. It means the feeling of a full belly. It means finding foods you enjoy. It means drinks with friends. It means driving in a fast car. It means watching the snow fall and the summer storms pass over the mountains. It means hearing birds sing in the morning and, if you are extra lucky, singing to your children at night. It means leaning where and how you have been wrong, making adjustments, and watching your life improve due to intelligent adjustments. It means learning how to get along with another. It means loving others. It means experiencing what having a physical body feels like. It means hearing music and reading poetry. It means praying and recieving comfort. It means a temporal break in our eternal oneness and experiencing life with the perception that we are something separate from the all, with the abitlity to make our own unique choices, to build our own unique character, and to sing our own unique songs. To be "here" is a very, very short period of time.
