I've come across quite a few problematic drivers in my life and I wonder if investing in a good dashcam could save me a lot of trouble in the event of an attempted insurance scam or just plain tomfuckery.

As a Truck driver it is imperative I have one, in fact I have two, one the company has installed and one I have set up just incase.

Yes. How could it not be worth it?

Absolutely. You don't need to spend a lot. Even a $30 is fine (I have many of this model). There are two basic levels of video quality: just showing that someone swerved into you or backed into you goes a long way for insurance. Then there are the expensive 4K models that can capture license plates a distance away at night. Sometimes this matters a lot.

Until you need it, you ask. The first time it would have saved you thousands of dollars because of idiots. You no longer question the value of front facing cameras.

I just got one installed in our truck a month ago. Wife has been watching dashcam accident videos. Figured it was either get one now or face a lifetime of 'coulda shoulda's if a situation arises without one

Daughter for brake checked, would have saved me some big money.

This reminds me that I bought one for my truck but haven't installed it yet. Thanks.

A dash cam would have saved me over 20k in legal fees. Yes get one.

Yes! A dash cam has been very helpful to me. 1)when I encountered a predator in the grocery parking lot. 2) an officer tried to write me a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt. 3) proved an accident was not my fault.

Get yourself a heavy duty extreme use sd card. Cheaper memory didn't survive very long in my vehicle.
