If someone's an asshole and I don't cuss him out but instead tell him how he should change the behavior to get a different outcome, then he has a chance to reflect and correct and do better. If someone's an asshole and I just call him an asshole and do what I want in retribution, no explanations, then chances are the asshole will not course correct and will be an asshole again to someone else and face consequences again.
