I'm staying at my nieces in St Louis. I'll head back home to SEMO (southeast Missouri) to watch the eclipse. The area I grew up is less than half an hour from the center point of the 2 eclipses. I'm going to visit my old stomping grounds. It's a real small town that will be in the path of totality. There's only a 20 second difference in the eclipse. I'm bringing 20 lbs of ground brisket and several racks of ribs to a BBQ my friends and I are having. You are more than welcome to come eat. We're just simple rednecks of German descent... I guess there are a few of Irish descent in the area as well. The town has always been 99+% white. Less than 4k people. Friendly as fuck.

I'm in a zone that will get about 97% totality. 97% of each of you can stay at my house. I get to decide which 3% of you and Smed has to go away.

I'm literally in THE hot zone. People are traveling from around the world to where I live. There's all kinds of events and gatherings and stuff. I know people who have rented out their lake houses a year ago for group viewings of it. It's kinda weird. I've seen local t-shirts in grocery stores and gas stations saying they were here for the eclipse.

I'm going to laugh maniacally if it's raining that day.

But I'll also be bummed because I just so happen to live in the best place to see this amazing event and then NOT get to see it.

Yes, 150 miles SE of the zone..and no, i'm all full up! Lol

Best I can do is put you both up in the chicken coop, a few hundred miles north of the eclipse zone
