Then she has absolutely no business going to college.

Let me explain this in crayon: any random McJob will earn her $15/hr. Call it $30k a year of wages. College will cost her $30k. That's an opportunity cost of $60k a year (spending $30k instead of earning $30k). If she has her heart set on becoming a nurse or a chemical engineer, then college is reasonable. ABSOLUTELY do not spend $60k a year on "she doesn't know". That's fucktarded.

Lots of hospitals will pay nursing student tuition in return for a year or two of working at the affiliated hospital. If it's a tertiary center where lots of experience in icu, trauma, and o.r can be gained, it's worth it.

Yep, nursing if a good field if you know you want it. OP's problem is that the daughter doesn't know what she wants.

Nursing is a hard field. You're a waitress with meds and not food. Docs calling you a fucking idiot, patients punching you and calling you a stupid bitch...cleaning up brains off the floor...dripping sweat doing cpr on some three year old beat to death by mommy's boyfriend...it aint for the faint of heart.
