I find that I operate best on about 7.5 hours of sleep. I go to bed at the same time every night and I wake up without an alarm at somewhere between 7 and 8 hours later. I love it and I have never felt more rested. If I am awakened early by some necessity I take a 20 to 40 minute nap in the middle of the day and resume my sleep schedule. I never struggle to sleep anymore. I am also able to predict when I am about to get sick by observing a sleep cycle of longer than 8 hours. I adapt my nutrition and supplements and typically am sick for no more than 2 or 3 days.
I regularly use an alarm and I feel like it's a bad habit. I'll wake up at some interval before the alarm and say "Oh, I've got more time to sleep". Then, I'll start a new sleep cycle that gets interrupted by my alarm.
Sleep is as important as oxygen to your body, seven and a half hours minimum, not waking to alarms but to heat & sun light. Nine hours is optimal, anything over nine is extra credit, secreting excess collagen, which is the best for your organs and skin.
9 hours.. good lord man.. I can't sleep that long unless I'm sleep deprived, hungover, or sick with the flu.
Everyone does genius their bedtime is whatever time they go to bed... think aboot
Simple as
Sleep when sleepy, allow yourself to awaken with the sunlight. Use blue block on your computer screen (like f.lux) in the evening, no coffee/caffeine after 4pm, no naps during the day, let your body tell you how much and when to sleep.
I ditched alarms almost ten years or more ago and don't miss the screech beeping alarm that is like a warning for a video game monster on boss level with a nuclear bomb count down.
no coffee/caffeine after 4pm
I'm violating that to the extreme my dude. I suspect that many of my habits are detrimental to my wellbeing.
As you get older, it is less about time management and more about energy management. A big part of that is ssleeping and waking up at the same times every day. Mess up that schedule and your energy is shit for the day.
8:30 or 9, I'm usually up at 3:30... I don't know why.
Not really, I'm usually good to go if I'm getting up after 6am. That's usually the key for me.
...I really should go to bed, it's almost midnight at the time of writing. Goodnight, Poal.
10pm, except on emergency work night, then usually 3am, or vacations.
Ur mum usually determines when we go to bed.
