Far wider range of discussion than there is to be found on voat, far less bullshit than there is to be found on reddit.
ha ha only serious
But honestly, it just seems to have better people - from what I've seen, most here are aware of the many problems plaguing our societies today, but they also do more than just obsess over the state of collapse. There's actually an array of different, interesting things posted here, and not everything devolves into either a mindless circlejerk or vitriolic shitslinging.
As others have said, it's probably got a lot to do with being a smaller community, still. Though I do think there's a distinct attempt here to cultivate a healthier (and more specific) forum culture than there was at other, similar sites. If such a thing can be created, and can be upheld, then there's a chance of preserving much of this quality through the site's growth.
Agreed, great user name by the way.
