I searched Poal already and found a bit of info on this but not much. I've watched a ton of videos lately and I'm pretty sold on giving it a shot.

Any Poalers have any experience with the Carnivore diet? 98% of the videos and comments I have seen are positive and if their claims are accurate I think it could be a good decision.

I thought anything from animals was fair game? milk, cheese, eggs, butter?

And I also thought seasonings were okay? I use Montreal a lot and I checked it today and it has zero carbs or sugars so I figured it would be good still.

I would recommend cutting everything beside red meat, water and salt to create a baseline then you can experiment adding stuff but then you know exactly what it was that made a difference.

That's pretty hardcore. I don't want to set myself up for failure.

It may sound like it but at least for me it was easier because my mind went crazy wanting carbs seeing junk food made my mind scream for it so if i had eaten anything more i wouldn't have been able to go a year. But that is the recommended way if you are doing it because of health problems.

I have heard that cutting out all plant matter and dairy, which includes butter, milk, pepper, and hot sauce, is the version of the diet that offers the most benefit. I don't know if this, purist, version of the diet could be worth it; I really like hot sauce, pepper, and cheese. I think I might try to go that far for a month, just to see if it is actually better. I will let you know if I get that far.

But I don't think milk is fair game in any version of the diet. Milk has a surprisingly large amount of carbs and sugars, all in lactose. Cream is pretty bad too. Eggs are always recommended, and people disagree on cheese and butter.

The hardest of the hardcore recommend eliminating plant based spice, which is everything except salt. I can imagine eliminating pepper from your diet does that much, but who knows. I will let you know if I get this far.

Just watched a video from the Dr dude that created the Carnivore diet and he says milk is okay! But he says that you can't over do it or you'll get fat. He drinks milk, but not a lot.

Who are you going to listen to? Some guy who claims to be a doctor on the internet? Or me, some guy who claims to be a poet on the internet?

Right on, I look forward to your thoughts. I'm off to read up on milk now... Maybe raw milk....

If milk raw milk is the only one.
