Pickup trucks have always been important because they can haul and tow much more equipment than the average vehicle. However, for every person that needs the capabilities of a truck, there are ten more that drive it to attempt to achieve a social status, to create a facade of being country folks even though they live in a rich suburb of a city that is only Southern by a technicality, because nothing says country like driving around in a brand-spanking-new GMC Sierra and blasting Old Town Road.

But enough rambling, what are your thoughts?

I thought you were interested in input but clearly you can't conceptualize any use cases for a truck outside of farming. Not sure what century you're in but there are many trades outside of farming that require more than muh bedspace. My rub with you is this. Your failure to understand a use for something does not negate its usefulness by someone else.

A shortbed with a 16' trailer will make more than 2' tighter turns than a lwb model. 2' in most places I frequent would mean the difference between making a turn or making it a 3pt turn. Often my loads are more than the bed capacity of even a one ton. I can also transfer all braking wear for the extra weight to trailer brakes. No trailer, I can still haul 16' boards out of the back of my shortbed.

Grow up, theres a big world out there, you're not the only one.
