  • (UFS Explorer Backup and Emergency Recovery CD)
  • Live CD is hosted at jewgle drive (link not allowed, but it's easy to find on the website)

A lot of internet people say HDDSuperClone is superior to ddrescue and the Pro version is Freeware now. Don't know much about UFS Explorer except that it is expensive. The archive link has a Live CD download that has the Pro version of the tools pre installed.

No. Other than trying to restore the superblock, which failed, I haven't done anything with it. I'm waiting for my new drives to show up so I can make a copy before I do anything else with it.

If you don't mind my asking, what new drives did you settle on?

I don't mind at all.

Two for $70 each (used) with a 5 year warranty. I didn't get them from amazon, but that's the exact drives I got.
