Big fan of Oboz boots myself. The roomy toe box on them is awesome and yet somehow manages to not look like you have clown shoes on. Quality builds too, five years on one pair and still going strong.
Good for you man! Wish I could say the same, a little over a year with RA has had me pretty much grounded. Lol, in fact I should probably knock a year of claimed use off my Oboz because of it. My problems are mostly in the ankles so the uneven rocky desert ground keeps my mileage down to yards. It’s like walking on two sprained ankles out there.
Before the Oboz I had always only ever wore Red Wing slip on boots. For everything. Then one winter up by Prescott working a claim I bought a pair of winter high top Bridger Oboz because of all the wet snow we had that year. Loved that comfy toe box. Come summer I bought the regular Bridger pair. Don’t get me wrong I love my Red Wings, once broke in they are like wearing moccasins and the soles are great for boulder hopping and lasted forever, or did I should say. They changed the composition of them, they don’t last or have that “stick” like they used to. So trek’n way back off the beaten trail in the desert in search for gold with a metal detector I took quite well to wearing those Oboz for that exclusively. They really are comfortable. I had given Keene a try many years ago, they have a nice toe box too, but my feet just didn’t get along with them. Never tried the Merrill line.
Have been get’n out here and there to detect, but I don’t make it too far off the road these days. Lol, watching where the coil is and where the rocks to trip my crippled ass up are at the same time is quite the challenge. Needless to say I’m finding more lead than I am nuggets, but at least I’m get’n out there and having those Oboz on helps with that. Don’t think I’d like it much in my Red Wings.
I get what you're saying, I don't really care either I wear mine every day, but I wish I could get something that looked like a normal shoe that came close to the support and durability you get out of oboz.
