I completely agree. That's why i've given up on the modern internet infrastructure along with trying to convince people to improve their opsec. Most people want push-button privacy, but the terms are oxymornoic.
That's why I'm building my own. Not a possbility for most, but, as you've pointed out, I can't help that.
