Signal is currently the best solution as it's ran by a non profit, performs true end-to-end encryption and it's open source. So, if there's a flaw, it will be brought to light. If the signal organization is ever served with a warrant, they can't produce your messages, although they can tell if you are a member as you have to use an actual telephone number in order to register your account.
There's lots of propaganda swirling about signal because the deep state doesn't want you to use it. So, you do you.

Yeah, and all that "encrypted" traffic is routed through signal central servers. Same was true about skype post-microshaft acquisition--and yet all that "encrypted" traffic was being run through MS servers and decrypted. See FOSDEM 2014 conference where NSA literally explains how the skype acquisition went down.

LOL. The App code is open souce, the server code is not. Everything happening on signal servers (which all your traffic is routed through) is completel proprietary, meaning no one knows what it's actually doing.
